Ne Zha 2
Ne Zha 2 (2025) is a Chinese animated fantasy action film and direct sequel to Ne Zha (2019), directed by Jiaozi. After being struck by divine lightning, Ne Zha and Ao Bing’s bodies are destroyed, and their souls are saved using the Sacred Lotus. They must share Ne Zha’s body for seven days and complete three trials to earn immortality and restore Ao Bing’s body. Meanwhile, Ao Guang, believing his son dead, attacks Chentang Pass.
The film was released on January 29, 2025, and became a global phenomenon, grossing over $2.2 billion. It received critical acclaim for its stunning animation, action, emotional storytelling, and rich use of Chinese mythology, cementing its place as the highest-grossing animated and non-English-language film of all time.
